Handwritten notes that keep up with you.
Inkloom is a notebook app for Windows. Write with a pen, type when it's quicker, write straight onto your worksheets, and keep every subject in one tidy place.
Windows · version 0.5.0 · invite-only beta. Android, iPad and Mac are planned.
Organised like a good binder.
Each subject gets a notebook. Notebooks have coloured sections, sections have pages. Drag anything to reorder it.
- Search that reads your handwriting. It finds typed text and handwriting transcripts, so “momentum” turns up the page you wrote by hand.
- Paper that suits the subject: blank, lined, grid or dotted.
- Pictures and attachments sit on the page with your notes.
Everything you'd want in a pencil case.
Inkloom's pen follows pressure, so lines get thicker as you press. The rest of the tools are one tap away.
- Pen
- Highlighter
- Eraser
- Lasso
- Shapes that snap
- Laser pointer
- Text boxes
- Pictures
- Attachments
Shapes snap. Rough circles, boxes and lines come out neat.
Text boxes have fonts, lists and To Do checkboxes for when typing is faster.
The lasso picks up a bit of handwriting so you can move it somewhere better.
Graphs and circuits, drawn properly.
Built for the subjects where a sketch isn't enough. Each tool puts its drawing on your page, and you can reopen it later to change it.

Build gate circuits and get truth tables and K-maps from them.
Physics circuits
Batteries, resistors, lamps, switches and meters, in series or parallel.
Write straight onto your worksheets.
Import a PDF and each of its pages becomes a sheet you can write on. No more printing it out just to answer it.
- Export a page, a section or a whole notebook as PDF or PNG, to hand in or print.
- Back up a notebook as one
.inkloomfile and open it again anywhere.
Meet Quillet, the study helper that reads your handwriting.
Quillet lives inside Inkloom. Ask it about the page you're on and it reads what you wrote, then helps the way a patient study partner would.
- Quizzes you on your notes, summarises them and explains what's confusing.
- Marks your work in red pen, right on the page.
- Makes new pages, typed or “handwritten” in pen.
- Transcribes your handwriting so search can find it, and learns to read it better from your corrections and a writing sample.
- Adds study tasks to Fennly and starts a focus session for you.
No AI account or key needed. You get 30 questions a day, shared with Fennly.
Quillet only sends what you ask about. Its server counts your questions, not what's in them.
Your notes, on every PC, and hard to lose.
Sign in with a 6-digit code sent to your email: there's no password to forget. The same account works in Fennly.
- Sync between PCs
- Notes, ink, pictures and PDFs follow your account from one PC to the next.
- Works offline
- Write without the internet. Everything syncs when you're back online.
- Two PCs, one page
- Wrote on the same page on two PCs? The strokes from both are merged, not overwritten.
- Page history
- Go back to an earlier version of any page.
- Recently deleted
- Deleted pages wait 30 days before they're gone for good.
- Saving you can trust
- Automatic backups run in the background, and if a save ever fails, Inkloom tells you.
Better with Fennly.
Fennly is Inkloom's sister app for focused study. Link a Fennly task to an Inkloom section and its notes open when you start focusing. Inkloom shows a small focus chip while a session runs.
Questions
How do I get Inkloom?
Inkloom is in an invite-only beta while friends test it. Ask for an invite and you'll get a download link when there's a place for you.
What can I run it on?
Windows, for now. Android, iPad and Mac versions are planned. A pen or touchscreen makes handwriting feel natural, but a mouse works too.
Do I need an account?
Yes. You sign in with a 6-digit code sent to your email, so there's no password to remember. Your account syncs your notes between PCs, gives you Quillet, and works in Fennly too. Once you're signed in, Inkloom keeps working offline.
Where are my notes kept?
On your PC, and synced through Inkloom's account server on Cloudflare (with the database in Western Europe) so they reach your other PCs. There's no advertising, tracking or analytics in the app or on this site. The privacy page has the details.
Does Quillet need a ChatGPT or Claude subscription?
No. Quillet is built in and needs no AI account or key of your own. It runs on Anthropic's Claude Haiku model, and you get 30 questions a day, shared between Inkloom and Fennly.
I use Claude on my desktop. Can it see my notes?
Only if you turn it on. Inkloom has a Claude desktop connector, so Claude can read, search, mark and add pages when you ask it to.
